{"id":2171,"date":"2017-06-20T13:53:04","date_gmt":"2017-06-20T19:53:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/migration.asb-latam.org\/?p=2171"},"modified":"2017-07-05T08:54:12","modified_gmt":"2017-07-05T14:54:12","slug":"nicaragua-se-compromete-la-inclusion-personas-discapacidad-la-gestion-del-riesgo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asb-latam.org\/en\/nicaragua-se-compromete-la-inclusion-personas-discapacidad-la-gestion-del-riesgo\/","title":{"rendered":"Nicaragua is committed to the inclusion of people with disabilities in risk management"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On June 20, Javier L\u00f3pez, Alma Baltodano and David L\u00f3pez, representatives of the Cabinet of People with Disabilities and members of the board of the Federation of Associations of People with Disabilities (FECONORI) met with Dr. Guillermo Gonz\u00e1lez, Minister Director of SINAPRED, to continue promoting the processes for the necessary inclusion of people with disabilities in disaster risk management, emphasizing the participation of grassroots organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Both parties recognize that raising awareness about inclusion is a long process. In this sense, the willingness and presence of tools and guides for inclusion are basic elements that are already opening doors for inclusive plans at all levels and for another series of measures that incorporate people with disabilities as protagonists in risk management and not from a welfare approach.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting with the Minister Director of SINAPRED, the collaboration already carried out between FECONORI organizations and the television program \"Nicaragua linda y segura\", produced by SINAPRED, which is broadcast every Saturday at 4:00 p.m. on Nicaragua's Channel 6, was also discussed. \u00a0Future cooperation on this programme, both on inclusive content and on sign language interpretation, is another topic of the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Alberto G\u00f3mez of ASB, coordinator of the project: \"Inclusion of people with disabilities and older adults in disaster risk reduction in Central America\" (2016-2019) also participated in the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>As agreements of the meeting should be highlighted the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A commission of associations of persons with disabilities will be formed to work with SINAPRED in reviewing documents for the inclusion of the disability approach, including the draft of the new SINAPRED law (Law 337).<\/li>\n<li>The organizations of people with disabilities will be counted on to develop training processes and for SINAPRED programs in the media.<\/li>\n<li>Given the importance of the participation of people with disabilities, the next national simulation in September 2017 is proposed as a suitable occasion to involve organizations throughout the country.<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Guillermo Gonz\u00e1lez will assign specific officials from SINAPRED as liaisons with the organizations of people with disabilities for the development of these commitments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El d\u00eda 20 de junio del presente, Javier L\u00f3pez, Alma Baltodano y David L\u00f3pez, representantes del Gabinete de [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":2173,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[29,30,32,28,1],"tags":[31],"class_list":["post-2171","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-discapacidad","category-gestion-del-riesgo-de-desastres","category-gestion-inclusiva-del-riesgo","category-lenguaje-de-senas","category-sin-categoria","tag-gestion-inclusiva-del-riesgo"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
