The campaign was created within the ASB regional flood risk reduction project, which aims to reduce the risk to flooding of 50.000 people, vulnerable to areas prone to flooding in El Salvador and Honduras by strengthening preparedness, prevention and mitigation capacities at local, national and regional level.<\/p>\n<p>Raising awareness of the imperative need for protection, participation and inclusion of persons with disabilities and older adults in the prevention and preparation for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in case of flooding in El Salvador and Honduras is the campaign\u2019s main objective. It is supported by government institutions involved in DRR, as well as civil society organizations such as The Permanent Bureau for Disaster Risk Reduction and organizations of older adults and persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Raising awareness of the imperative need for protection, participation and inclusion of persons with disabilities and older adults in the prevention and preparation for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in case of flooding in El Salvador and Honduras is the campaign\u2019s main objective. Multiple human interest stories from people with disabilities, older adults and community DRR committee members will be posted on Facebook under the \"Inclusion Saves Lives\" fanpage between today and December.<\/p>\n<p>If we all, at whatever level, contribute our skills and knowledge, better decisions will be made during an emergency and with the necessary speed.
