Didactic materials of the Central American project "Inclusion of people with disabilities and older adults in Disaster Risk Reduction

The Central American project "Inclusion of people with disabilities and older adults in disaster risk management in Central America" (2016-2019), with the financial support of the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, has actions in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua, and is being promoted by Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) of Germany, the Nicaraguan Federation of Association of People with Disabilities in Nicaragua (FECONORI), a member of RIADIS (Latin American Network of Non-Governmental Organizations of People with Disabilities and their Families), and the Association "Fundación para la Cooperación y el Desarrollo Comunal de El Salvador" (CORDES), a member of HelpAge, together with its partners in the other Central American countries mentioned.

Sometimes it is stated that working with people with disabilities and older adults is difficult and requires experts. However, we have many "experts" in the organizations of people with disabilities and older adults in our countries and municipalities. But the project also aimed to answer the question of how to be more inclusive in the field of risk reduction and humanitarian action. And he wanted to leave useful tools in Spanish so that from different areas the inclusion of these groups in disaster risk management is promoted.
