Development of capacities in drought risk reduction, resilience and adaptability to climate change.
The purpose of this activity was to generate a space for the exchange of experiences, contributions and proposals for drought risk management, resilience and climate adaptability in the Central American region.
On-site final event of the "Regional Diploma on Drought Risk Management, Resilience and Adaptability to Climate Change".
The final on-site event of the "Regional Diploma on Drought Risk Management, Resilience and Adaptability to Climate Change" was held on September 12-14, within the framework of the "Food Security for Populations Affected by Climate Change in Central America" program. The objective of this activity was to generate a space for the exchange of experiences, contributions and proposals for drought risk management, resilience and climate adaptability in the Central American region.
The event included:
- The presentation of nine academic essays on climate change and resilience, elaborated by the participants during the diploma course.
- The presentation of studies and proposals for guiding instruments for drought management from a preventive approach.
- The exchange of local practical experiences for drought risk management, resilience and climate adaptability.
Leaders of different regional institutions, such as CEPREDENAC and national institutions - El Salvador, linked to drought risk management in seven countries of the Central American region (Agriculture, Risk Management, Climate Monitoring and Food and Nutritional Security of Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Belize and Panama, members of the Regional Concertation on Risk Management, leaders of academic institutions and other civil society organizations) participated.
