At sea we must go forward without stops

Hurricanes Eta and Iota are gone and we, the people with disabilities who work at sea, must continue to move forward without stopping.

Galvez's words:
The support provided by the ASB was very significant, in terms of food received we ensured the meals for the month of January 2021, since we still did not have fishing activities opened, and with the auxiliary means that I received (Canadian cane) I can move to the beach that is 300 meters from my home and direct fishing activities.
Now that the fishing season is open, I still have the ability and experience to work at sea, so they are seeking me to operate the boat as Captain of the boat, lead fishing up to 10 miles east offshore with the young people of the community who depend on my experience of more than 40 years of work at sea.
Despite my disability I do not stop because the sea is my livelihood, it is my culture, it is my distraction and passion so my physical condition has not totally stopped me from working at sea, and I will continue until the day I have to rest, and I would like to be the example in my community as an older adult with a disability with the ability to work at sea.
Although hurricanes Eta and Iota took our fishing equipment and tools, but we cannot wait, our children, grandchildren are still waiting for something that I can provide for them, they have to study, they have to go to church, they have to play and they have to grow and as I still have the mind, the experience and the sea by my side I know that I can continue to support my family, with less difficulty in mobilizing myself thanks to ASB and the support of their personnel, that showed that they care about us. Everyday my family, and young people from the neighborhood transport me in a cartwheel (Carreta) along with the fishing equipment to start another day.
