Small steps, big changes
Jackner's smile is now permanent, he is always happy with a playful and mischievous smile like all children, he is no longer looking at the other children from the hallway of the house, now he goes out and joins in, plays and talks with the other children his age, he introduces them to his car (so he calls the walker) and always wears a whistle around his neck that he blows to call the other children to play when it is 3:00 pm.
Jacker Omely Ricardo - 6 years old, beneficiary of an orthopedic walker.
Ely Ricardo Narciso (Mother) was consulted if the story could be published and agreed, she was also the one that gave the interview.
My son Jackner has changed a lot in terms of his emotional situation, with the walker he is more independent, he can move around the backyard and inside the house, and now he can take up to 30 steps without the walker, when before he had the orthopedic walker he could only take 5 steps and sit down.

Our house was donated by regional development organization, and we decided to design a ramp for Jackner so that he can go up and down with care because we want to teach him to be self-reliant. We consider that the support of ASB has changed the life of our son Jackner and ours too, as parents we are also happy because our son is happy, the food was key because it was at times when we were depending much more on the help of the leader of our community who every afternoon cooked to give food to our children in the area, so that the food received we knew how to manage it well.
To continue with our lives, we have managed to establish a small grocery store, we are preparing to go to the sea, there is much to live and not stop so we will continue with our lives watching our son grow up recovering little by little from what we have lived.
