People! This country is yours!
In order to attract neighbors to know and buy the products that were for sale made by the entrepreneurs, a race called: Carrera Ch´orti´ 10K with the slogan: "Hey! This country is yours!" was held.
As part of the celebration of International Youth Day, the Municipal Directorate of Women -DMM- through the Municipal Office of Labor Linkage, in alliance with the Project Right to a self-determined and dignified life by strengthening the prospects of permanence in the country., joined efforts to carry out a Feria Municipal de Emprendimiento, where 15 groups of entrepreneurs (70 people) participated offering their products. The participating entrepreneurs are graduates of the Workshop School currently operating in the facilities of the municipality of Camotán and other local entrepreneurs.
In order to attract neighbors to know and buy the products that were for sale made by the entrepreneurs, a race called: Carrera Ch´orti´ 10K with the slogan: "Hey! This country is yours!", was held. There were 300 participants in attendance.
Among the parallel events held in conjunction with the Municipal Entrepreneurship Fair, there were spaces for the setting up of information booths on the different institutional programs for economic development in the municipality, as well as for the municipal office of labor connection to promote its actions. As part of the activity, awards were given to the participants of the 10K race and there were artistic presentations. At the end of the Feria Municipal de Emprendimiento (Municipal Entrepreneurship Fair) , diplomas of participation were awarded to the entrepreneurs. Those interested in enrolling in the courses taught at the Workshop School, signed up at an information booth where they could learn more about the courses and their enrollment requirements.
It is necessary to contribute to the improvement of the family economy of the participant entrepreneurs and promote their products. This type of activity is intended to give the potentially migrant population access to better job opportunities and the chance to generate employment by building occupational skills, strengthening entrepreneurship and solidarity market models.
This activity is implemented within the framework of the project "Right to a self-determined and dignified life by strengthening the prospects of permanence in the country", financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Deutschland e. V (ASB) and implemented by Ayuda en Acción of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras and three partner institutions: the Salvadoran Migrant Institute (INSAMI), the Pastoral de Movilidad Humana of Guatemala (PMH) and the Christian Organization for the Integral Development of Honduras (OCDIH).
